When you can’t breathe as well as you should
When air can’t get to your lungs
It affects virtually every part of your life
And your virtues are largely unsung.
Because without enough air, nothing works well
And life is a constant ordeal
You might try to downplay all of the effects,
But I assure you, they’re all really real.
It’s more than mouth breathing,
Though that promotes tooth decay
And it makes tonsils and adenoids swell all the time,
And allergies that will not go away.
And it steals your attention, and begats
Inattention and forgetting
As well as chronic nighttime terrors
And prolonged bouts of bed wetting.
And it sucks away your energy,
And Creates a Chronic Fatigue
And this couples with Asthma
And you struggle always to breathe.
And the headaches, the neckaches,
The tooth grinding and grating
And Snoring and apnea
It’s all interrelated.
Aggressive behavior, and ADHD,
And falling behind in schooling.
You think that this is NOT due to lack of air,
Tell me, who do you think you are fooling?
And as you get older, the problems persist
And become ever greater in scope.
To Obesity, Diabetes, and cancer
To Heart Attacks, Dementia, and Stroke.
How can it be worse, you may rightfully ask
Surely this is the worst of diseases.
No, it’s worse than all that, because the cure,
Is so straightforward, and simple, and easy.
